SEASON PREVIEW
The Covington Lady Buccs return the majority of the players from a year ago where the team won the league championship and finished the season with an 18-6 record.
Two talented athletes were lost from graduation, Mazelle Reck and Taylor Kirker, but ten returning lettermen return; Addison Ventura, Dakohta Kenworthy, Hollan Koffer, Nell Rogers, Nadia Ramirez, Ramsé Vanderhorst, Kylie Palsgrove, Ava Hartwig, Aleah Russell and Alison Sink. Addison Ventura finished first team all-league last year, while Ramsé Vanderhorst earned second team and Dakohta Kenworthy was honorable mention.
The key to more success in 2025 in the amount of time the Lady Buccs put in through the off-season and the leadership provided by senior captains, Addison Ventura and Dakohta Kenworthy. Three more seniors will have a huge impact as well, Hollan Koffer, Nell Rogers and Jayda McClure.
There are seven juniors on the roster who will also have a huge impact; Ramsé Vanderhorst, Ava Hartwig, Kylie Palsgrove, Nadia Ramirez, Cassidy Iddings, Alison Sink and Aleah Russell.
Covington has another schedule against several tough opponents that will hopefully lead to the team peaking at the right time while in the state tournament. In non-league games, Covington plays Anna, Brookville, Jackson Center, Russia, Graham, Arcanum and Bradford. The TRC is challenging as well against Miami East, Lehman, Bethel, Milton-Union, Riverside, Troy Christian and Northridge.
